Atheist Blogs Link Roundup - 10/05

There are a lot of good posts being published in the atheist blogosphere everyday, and while I wish I could read them all, unfortunately that is impossible. However, there are always a few posts that stand out for me among the ones that I do have a chance to read. The following are 6 of my favorite posts from the last week or so. Enjoy.

Atheist Woman Loves Christian Man - HeavingDeadCats.com
What do you do when your significant other of 12 years comes home one day and says, “I respect your beliefs. But I want you to find Jesus?” This is potentially every atheist who is in a relationship’s nightmare.

Atheism 101: A Reading List - Atheist Revolution
Nice, compact list of books that any atheist will want to read who is just beginning to explore what it means to be an atheist. Short commentary on each group of selections. Not a comprehensive list. It is Atheism 101, after all.

What To Do About Bill Maher - The Atheist Blogger
Bill Maher’s new documentary, Religulous, is likely to be well embraced by atheists. However, Maher himself refuses to use the term ‘atheist’ because he believes that atheists must be as dogmatic in their denial of god as theists are in their belief in god. Should we try and correct him?

Were Nazis Atheists? - Being Human
An excellent overview of the religious beliefs of Hitler and the Nazis party. Reminds us that not only is it clear that the Nazis were not atheists, but that the Catholic Church did little to condemn them during the war.

The Most Effective Response to “Hitler was an atheist!…” - Conversational Atheist
If you hear this familiar refrain during a debate or discussion with a Christian and would rather not try and delve into all of the historical facts detailed in the previous post, you can try this tactic to turn the Christian’s argument around. This one is stirring up some heated opinions on Reddit and StumbleUpon. Check it out, and see whether you agree with the approach!

Was Atheist Jailed For Refusal To Bow & Pray? - Atheist Under Ur Bed
When that atheist’s court ordered drug treatment program includes believing in and praying to higher powers - yes.
