Religion News: Parishioners create Lego statue of Jesus

Parishioners at a church in Sweden on Easter Sunday unveiled a 6-foot statue of Jesus made of Legos.

According to wire reports, 40 volunteers spent about 18 months putting 30,000 tiny plastic blocks together to form a white statue of Jesus with his arms outstretched.

The statue went on display behind the altar of the Protestant church in Vasteras. A church spokesman said the statue is modeled after one on display in Copenhagen.

Although the statue is all white on the outside, the inside is composed of colored Legos the church received through donations.
