		<description>Peter actually recognizes the private property rights, observing that Ananias had the right to do what he wanted with his own land, to keep it, to keep the profit, etc. (Acts. 5:4). His sin was not being a bad comrade, but in lying to God (Acts 5:3-4). Also, Peter does not have either Ananias or Saphira executed nor did he have independent power to strike them dead. Therefore, it was God who killed them, not Peter. God&#039;s purpose was clearly to warn the early church against corruption as it was just getting started (Acts 5:11). </description>
