Well said friend. This is a very important topic to understand. I hope the lack of replies means your answers were helpful to the many who struggle with this question.

You know, I've been wondering about this for years. God says they can't eat from the tree he put right in front of them, or they'll die, and then leaves them alone with the tree. Serpent says no you won't. You'll get knowledge and be more like God. They didn't die, and they did get the knowledge. So God set them up and lied to them, and the Serpent told them the truth. And which one is the evil one, again? The honest one, or the one who wanted to keep them subservient and knowledge-free?

I thoroughly enjoyed your article. You gave me something new to think about. Explaining the gap and how God was afraid we would become a god. Very interesting. Never thought about that one before. Thanks.
