/two/ courses. Why nothing for the Book of Mormon? :)

Ye must learn Scripture to burn faith, Ballzak. Atheism is not good enouh. Theists thrive in wilful shirking of their read.

Honestly as an atheist sophomore in High School, I'm excited to take this class.
It looks like a decent opportunity to debate on an avoided subject.

At least christians don't blackmail you about random stuff you did 30 years ago (for anyone over 35), or make up stuff that gets you in legal trouble, if you speak out against them.

I can't wait to see if any law suits come in from Atheist groups for violation of Separation of Church and State, and cant wait to see Texan Taxpayer cash go to bible studies, instead of funding college! Just another state improperly using their budget.

On the back of @karlajkitty : What's the figging point? My limited mind interpreted the language of the bill to be useless. There is nothing to teach. I guess the most the class could be would be a comparative religion class. I’m I missing something?

This is worse than the bill that tried to put up the 10 commandments in all schools and courts. Welcome back to the year 1682, Texas.

I am just wondering how exactly they are going to monitor the courses being taught in an "objective and non-devotional" manner. No matter who writes the curriculum, an individual teacher could get up there and say just about anything. But at least the course is an elective and not required.
